Privacy Policy for SplitGrab
Last updated: 2026-07-05
SplitGrab ("the extension") is a browser extension that helps you download files from web pages you choose to visit. Your privacy matters, and SplitGrab is designed to collect as little as possible — in practice, nothing.
What we collect
Nothing. SplitGrab has no servers and no user accounts. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information or browsing data.
What runs locally
All of the extension's work — scanning a page for files, opening download pages, and starting downloads — happens locally in your browser. Your settings (such as your matching patterns and the results of your last scan) are stored only on your own device using the browser's local extension storage. This data never leaves your computer and can be cleared at any time by removing the extension or clearing its storage.
Permissions we use and why
- Downloads — to save the files you select.
- Tabs / Scripting — to read the table on the page you scan and to open each download page and find the real file link.
- Storage — to remember your settings and last scan on your device.
- Host access — so the extension can work on the pages you choose to point it at.
SplitGrab uses these permissions solely to perform the actions you request. It does not track your browsing, build a profile, or send data to us or any third party.
Third parties
SplitGrab does not include third-party analytics or advertising.
Children
SplitGrab is a general utility and is not directed at children.
